The Muse of Music
Students will create artwork based on the artist Kandinsky, focusing on the colors and shapes of the music. Students will use a different form of thinking to create their artwork and broaden their understanding of new ways to create art.
Students will analyze a new process of creative exploration through sound and abstract art-making. Each student is given a song that they are meant to create an abstract drawing of, using the concepts of Kandinsky's famous paintings. Students will listen and research the song they have chosen, really diving deep into the song while filling out a worksheet. Using colored pencils, students will choose their colors and shapes to begin drawing.
